Conair GS60 Deluxe Compact Fabric Steamer Reviews
97 of 98 people found the following review helpful Pack your iron away!!, August 17, 2008 By This review is from: Conair GS60 Deluxe Compact Fabric Steamer (Kitchen) I got sick of ironing so I decided to buy this today at Bed, Bath & Beyond. At Bed, Bath & Beyond, you can use the 20% off coupon.
I looked online and compared products and this one seems to be the best buy for under $50. This one has 1200 watts compared to others which have 600 & 800 watts. My decision came down to this one and the Rowenta steam brush (800 watts & only 1-2/3 ounce water capacity). I decided on this one because I did not want to have to constantly refill the water tank.
It's the GS6 model for about $40. It does hold a lot of water and does produce about half an hour of steam.
I have been using this for almost 6 months and have to say that it is amazing. I use it to steam everything. It works faster on the softer fabrics (t-shirts, polos etc.) but it does work on the stiffer fabrics as well such as jeans and button-down dress shirts. I also use it to steam curtains and furniture. To learn how to steam, I just watched a few videos on... Read more
36 of 37 people found the following review helpful Wow! Not perfect, but close, June 9, 2008 By dave (tustin, ca) - See all my reviews This review is from: Conair GS60 Deluxe Compact Fabric Steamer (Kitchen) This sucker is AMAZING!!! Tons of constant steam, ran for about 20 minutes and used half the tank. It's amazing to watch the wrinkles literally dissappear. Works perfect on T-shirts, great on jeans, and haven't tried it on anything thicker. I would really give it 4.5 stars since it doesn't have a stand for the steam head (however there is something to hook to a door top), and there is no trigger to turn the steam on and off (I did burn myself twice so may want to wear a glove on the hand not holding the steam head, but in retrospect I've burnt myself several times ironing as well), so make sure to have clothes ready when using this. The one thing that pushes it over the edge is the price, heck you can't even buy a travel steamer for this cheap!
27 of 28 people found the following review helpful great love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, September 11, 2008 By This review is from: Conair GS60 Deluxe Compact Fabric Steamer (Kitchen) I steamed a weeks worth of laundry in under 30 minutes.
I burned my fingers a couple of times which was my fault.
I put clothes on hangers straight out of dryer then steam.
The steamer is very easy to set up & work.
I am planning on purchasing 2 more for my sister & mother.
